Thembekile Kimi Mkwetu
Thembekile Kimi Makwetu was born in Cape Town and completed a Social Sciences degree at the University of Cape Town in 1989. He received a BCompt Honours degree from the University of Natal (distance learning in 1997) and is a qualified chartered accountant.
He started his career with Standard Bank and later worked at Nampak. He completed his articles at Deloitte where he progressed to senior management before joining Liberty and Metropolitan Life in Cape Town (Western Cape). He moved to Gauteng in 2003 where he worked at Liberty Life. Kimi returned to Deloitte as a director in the firm’s forensic unit before his appointment as Deputy Auditor-General at the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA).
Kimi is married and has three children.
On 1 December 2013, the President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Jacob Zuma, officially appointed our former Deputy Auditor-General, Mr Kimi Makwetu, as the new Auditor-General of South Africa for a period of seven years.

Awarded the Order of the Grand Counsellor of the Baobab by the President of the Republic of South Africa in 2008 and awarded nine honorary doctoral degrees by South African universities in recognition of his contribution in socio economic development, education and the accounting profession.
Alderman Herman Mashaba
Herman Mashaba is a South African entrepreneur, politician and currently a Mayor of Johannesburg. He is the founder of the hair products company Black Like Me. He is famous in South Africa for his life story: growing up and struggling against poverty and the Apartheid government to open his own hair business, which became the biggest hair brand in South Africa, making him a millionaire.
He publicly backed Mmusi Maimane in the Democratic Alliance leadership race. He also wrote the book Black Like You which is his autobiography. Philosophically, he is a libertarian and “capitalist crusader” whose highest value is “individual freedom.”
On August 22, 2016, Mashaba was elected Mayor of Johannesburg by the first sitting of council following countrywide local government elections.
Bonang Mohale
Bonang Francis Mohale is a highly respected South African businessman, who is known as much for his patriotism and his active role in seeking to advance the country’s interests. He is the Author of ‘Lift As You Rise’, launched in November 2018, a compilation of some of his spoken and written words in which Mohale reveals the issues he is passionate about – among them transformation, people development, constructive collaboration and integrity.
Bonang is currently the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER of Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) , a forum which brings together the leadership of South Africa’s most successful and influential big business and multinational investors to exchange ideas, facilitate effective dialogue with government and other stakeholders and advocate for pro-business, economically sustainable policies and programmes.
Alderman Herman Mashaba
Louise van Rhyn is a social entrepreneur. She believes the worlds’ huge intractable problems can be solved through cross-sector collaboration and a solid understanding of complex social change. Her approach to change is shaped by 30 years of working as an Organisational Change and Leadership Development practitioner. She holds a Doctorate in Complex Social Change and has founded a few entrepreneurial organisations.
Having worked in the UK, US and many countries around Europe, she returned to South Africa in 2004 to help make democracy work ‘at home’.
In 2008 she started a social enterprise with a purpose to mobilise active citizenship around the significant social issues facing the country. In 2010 she launched Partners for Possibility, an innovative leadership development process for business and school leaders. Business leaders develop their capacity to lead in a complex and unfamiliar environment by becoming a co-learning and co-action partner to a school principal. The focus of their partnership is to lead positive change in an under-resourced school.
So far more than 1,300 leaders across South Africa have benefited from the programme and they’ve won many national and international awards for their innovative approach to enable business leaders to make a significant contribution in education while developing their leadership skills. Leaders report that they learn more about leadership from working with a school in an under-resourced community than attending a course at a business school.
Sisa Ntshona
Sisa Ntshona has been at the helm of South African Tourism from October 2016. Since joining the organisation, he has been instrumental in driving the organisation’s overarching 5-in-5 strategy which aims to have 14 million tourists visiting South Africa annually by 2021.
Sisa has also recently overseen South African Tourism’s organisational restructure in line with global best practice.
With over 20 years’ experience he has held several strategic leadership positions across different jurisdictions in Africa & Middle East in blue chip corporations and multinationals. Having initially joined Barclays Africa as an Investment Banker, he later moved to become the Head of its SME Banking Division, a role he held until joining SA Tourism.
Sisa also has worked in the aviation industry for South African Airways, Financial Services Money Transfer, Western Union and Manufacturing, Parmalat Food Industries.
An accountant by training, he holds a string of commerce qualifications including a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from GIBS and an International Executive Programme (IEP) from INSEAD Business School in France. He has also served on a number of boards including as non-Exec Board Member for the Enterprise Development Council of South Africa and Livity Africa, a youth development NPO.
Brenda Archdeacon
Brenda is the CEO of Performance by Design SA, she is in partnership with her daughter Megan Palmer. She calls herself a “Change Agent” as her passion is helping people to be the best version of themselves. Brenda owns a Performance Booster license, this is a 2 day personal growth program. They do Enneagram coaching and other inspirational and personal growth workshops. She is also a motivational speaker.
Brenda is the chairman of the Regional Council for CANSA Lowveld, has a joint venture with Jenna Clifford, has been the chairman of both the Uplands Prep and College PTA and has been involved in fundraising projects for WESSA Lowveld, CANSA Lowveld, White River Hospice and various other NPO’s. She coordinates 2 annual charity events for CANSA Lowveld, the CANSA Tea Mbombela and the Community Fair at Jenna Clifford’s home, Baronmere Farm.
She currently assists Tshepiso Phosa with public relations and marketing.
Linda Magapatona-Sangaret
Ms Magapatona-Sangaret is a Brand and Marketing expert in the areas of destination and country brand management. She has spent over 25 years promoting South Africa and contributing to creating a positive and compelling Brand image for the country.
As former Chief Marketing Officer of Brand South Africa, her role was to manage the reputation of the country through effective marketing and communication campaigns; all in collaboration with key strategic stakeholders, at home and around the world.
She has served the ANC in exile in the 1990s, the government of South Africa as a diplomat in Paris, and was Country Manager for South African Tourism in Paris for 9 years.
