Following two years of hosting this growing annual event as the Brand Summit South Africa, organisers have decided to respond favourably to growing calls for the event’s programmatic and thematic content to cover image and reputation issues that have relevance for the entire African continent. Calls have also been made for the brand summit to create more opportunities for delegates, who have come from Africa, Eastern and Western Europe, North-America and Asia, to see more of the summit’s host city and region, as well as gain exposure to business opportunities that might exist in them.
With this announcement, we share the exciting news of the 2020 launch of the Brand Summit Africa / Africa Brand Summit week. The first five days of June 2020 will consist of:
- Two thematic delegate tours into the 2020 host region (Cape Town and the region)
- A dedicated Media Tour
- A PRISA (The Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa) Master Class on Country Communication – Public Relations’ role in dealing with southern Africa’s brand and image
- A ‘Reputation Matters‘ interactive presentation on reputation management
- A Finnish TVET (Technical, Vocational, Education & Training) Model’s Master Class on “Education for Sustainable Livelihood”
- A gathering of ‘Women Influence Community Forum Global‘, and
- Two core summit days (Thursday 4th and Friday 5th)
The theme of the 2020 Brand Summit Africa “Recapturing the South African Narrative; Interrogating Africa’s Brand Potential” will set the scene to analyse evolving perceptions about Africa and to recommend practical steps for generating global goodwill, developing skills of the future, and progressively realising a sustainably integrated African economy
